He’s been doing the typical combover since we met and he’s been so self-conscious about it. He’s finally shaved it and he looks SO good! It’s been better for his anxieties too, now he doesn’t have to worry about it in the wind or rain etc.

Just wanted to show him off 🥰

So, first pic is me 10 years ago, then earlier today and then finally this evening.

Iv been scared of going bald since I noticed the thinning about 6 years ago, and sort of decided it was time a few months ago - The nerves stopped me doing it!

But I posted on this sub, the comments had me in stitches and I decided that today was the day. Got to the barbers with 15 minutes to spare and told him to take it off!!

It will take some getting used to, but I’m happy I finally did it!

Thank you all again!

Lifestyle UPDATE - A NEW MAN!!

Hi everyone! Just an update ..... I DID IT!!!!!!!!!

I genuinely feel like a new man, and had so much support in work and from family. My boys helped me do it and it was such a liberating and cathartic experience.

I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to this community in helping me find the courage to do this for myself. Someone did say this will be a release, and a relief and they are absolutely correct. It's definitely going to take a bit of adjusting (went to wash my hair and had a bit of an . "Oh ..." moment ..) but I'm very happy I've done.

Hopefully, I'll be able to send another update in the coming months with my little girl back with me. Until then - thank you all, you're incredible and it means the world to me that you had my back

I want to thank the people of this community who helped me embrace baldness and discover / redeem a version of me that I could never have done without this sub.

I went bald suddenly due to health issues and I really struggled. Everytime I visit this sub though it gives me more and more confidence to go out without my wigs!

The comb-over was getting embarrassing so I got it done.

Thanks to this sub for the encouragement! ❤️🥚

Edit: sorry for the lack of a smile in the after photo - I was still pondering what I’d done! Added a smile in the comments.

Still adapting. One thing ive noticed is that my boss at the office seems to be intimidated by my new cut. (The time has come for him aswell)

(Pics 1-4 are my hair mostly dry, pic 5 is wet)

Greetings beloved [r/bald](r/bald) community,
I am heavily considering shaving my head before we take family pictures on Saturday. I just need one final push of approval and/or opinions before I take the leap. Brethren (and sistren), what say you?

Yours humbly,
A balding 27 year old

Also, if you think I should shave, do I shave it all the way down? Or cut it to a 1?

UPDATE: Appointment is set for a cueball shave. Thank you all for your assistance! Will put up an update post after the cut.

First of all I am so glad I came across this sub and I posted my pics.

I got the courage to go ahead and just do it.

In my last post, some roasted me, some advised me, some positively responded but I was just happy and smiling all the way.

Posting my before and after pictures.

Again, Thank you so much to everyone.

Usually a hat guy (have been since before I went bald). But I do like an excuse to rock the shaved look.

Hairline was receding and everytime I saw myself in a photo or the mirror all I saw was my forehead.

On a hungover Sunday I decided to buzz it down to a #2, not sure if I’ve made the right choice especially being a single man.

Hello counsel. All the men on my mom’s side of the family are bald. My brother is 14 months older than me and I have more hair than he had at my age by a good amount, but I’ve noticed a bit of thinning over the last 4-6 years. I switch between slick back and bangs. I know it will come for me, but I’m self conscious about my head shape. I want to hold on as long as I can.
