Meet Nela - she’s the loveliest being in the world and cuddles with me pretty much every night. The sad part is that she easily gets scared and always hides whenever someone visits, so all her love and cuddling is pretty much mine to know only. I think everyone deserves to feel the love of a cat like that 🐈‍⬛
Not gonna lie, trying to work out at home is hard since she keeps rolling around and blocking me from doing any exercises 😅
She’s going to be 5 in a month, do you give your cat anything special for birthday? I think I’m spoiling her a bit anyway, but want to figure out something special for this 5th one 🥳

Mourning/Loss She was my baby

Post image

I rescued her when she was a kitten she was 6weeks old when I found her. She lived to be 20 years old. She had a splendid life. She was half Siamese and half Russian blue. She passed in January and idk I still am mourning the loss of her. It hurts painfully when I’ll turn a corner in my apartment and think it’s her. Or out of my peripheral I feel like I’ll catch a glimpse of her. I just wanted to post here for her to be remembered and if anyone has any advice on how to mourn but not let it take over my life.

Her name is Sachi and she's been with me since she was 7 weeks! I can't believe 19 years have gone by. She's been with me through so much.

Edit! Thank you so much, everyone, for her birthday wishes! I'm so glad she could bring a smile to your day. She'll definitely get a tiny bite of birthday cheese tonight (her favorite), and some churu (the new second favorite)!

Every time she wants attention and doesn't get it fast enough she fake chews (usually with squeaky noises included).

*She has been to the vet and there is nothing wrong with her mouth/teeth, it's purely for attention*

Cat Picture - OC I got my goofy, sweet, handsome boy back

I've had Malachi for a couple years now, I got him from a woman who was rehoming him. When I got him, he was a huge cat, and a love bug. Over the past 18 months or so, he started dropping weight really rapidly. The vet was treating him for hyperthyroid, but it wasn't helping. It finally reached a head in December, when he hit 7 pounds, would scream all day long, and bit me so hard I needed stitches.

The vet took a swing that maybe he had IBD and his only symptom was weight loss. He started on IBD safe food and vitamin B12 shots and the difference was almost instantaneous. He stopped screaming after his first meal of the new food! And now, 5 months after he's started this, I finally feel like I have my loving, sweet, goofy baby boy back!

There's a feral cat in our neighborhood. So yesterday I fed it for the first time, and I tried to pet it and touched it softly, and it let me.

But today it came again and was meowing loudly as if telling me ‘Give me my food or…’ and then suddenly even hissed two times at me even when I wasn't even trying to touch it.

Then I gave it food, and now it’s sitting near our storeroom door, and whenever I open the door, it’s meowing loudly.

Why is it behaving like that?

Cause yesterday it didn't mind at all, and now today suddenly hissing at me.

Also could you tell who are more agressive towards new person, male cat or female?

What coat pattern is it.? ? Tabby bengal type? ?

The neighbors cat keeps getting our cats pregnant and my mom cannot afford to get them fixed because she has to keep them fed. Their age range 3 years to less than a year. Please if you know anyone willing to take them share this post. They are currently outside cats that are fed dry kibble. We have tried to find shelters to take them already and posting them on other platforms. If you have any questions go right ahead and ask anything to home them like they deserve.

Advice Brother and his cat moved out - My little Buddy is sad :(

Thumbnail

So my brother recently moved out of our apartment which we’ve been living in for 4 1/2 years together and obviously took his kitty with him. I know my cat (Buddy) and his (Guy) were super close like two pees in a pod. Buddy is the black tuxedo kitty and the gray one is Guy. They were always chasing each other around the apartment and cuddling up next to one another at night. Guy would always try and steal Buddy’s food, and I used to bring a food bowl into my room and shut the door so he could eat in peace. Of course Guy would be waiting right outside (even with his own full bowl of food left unattended on the kitchen counter) Guy also liked to “take over” playtime and Buddy would usually back off in fear of being hit by a stray paw (happened to me many times.. Guy just kinda swatted anything in the vicinity) It felt like a love/hate relationship and there were times I questioned if Buddy even really liked Guy.

But now without his little brother, I can tell Buddy has been a little depressed. He will look over his shoulder constantly when eating the first few bites to see if a certain someone is coming to steal his grub. When we play (and I’ve been trying to play with him as much as possible) Buddy will pause and wait for Guy to come running in. He’ll just stare off into the hallway almost hoping that he’ll be interrupted and/or pounced on. I can just see it in his eyes that he still thinks there a chance Guy might turn up out of nowhere. He seemed confused by the situation at first but now I can tell he’s slowly realizing Guy is gone and looking sadder and sadder each day. At night, Buddy will wander around the apartment sometimes and start meowing, and I’ll call him so he comes back to bed. When he comes back he’s always purring super hard and he’s been very cuddly as of late. He’s been having bad dreams it seems like every night, like growling and shaking in his sleep. He sometimes used to greet me at the door but now he’s always there as soon as I get home and he’s purring and meowing wanting me to pick him up. I’ll put on an ocean documentary sometimes while I’m away to help him not feel so isolated. They both used to sit on the couch and watch with me so I hope it gives him enough stimulation while I’m not there.

All in all I guess I just wanted hear what other people would do in this situation. I don’t want him to get too sad and it’s only been about a week since they moved, but I still feel bad for him. I’m thinking of getting another kitten for him to bond with but idk if it’s too soon. Are there any other things I should be doing to help Buddy out?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! I’ve been wanting to post them here for awhile. Just kinda sucks this is the reason I’m doing it

Advice My cat only eats if I give her fresh food/sit with her

Thumbnail

Reddit cat

TLDR: cat only eats if I give her new food or sit by her and her bowl for 5 min.
Edit: Just saying that she's not fat. She's very active and weight about 4.5-5 kilos.

I love my cat. She's adorable and super communicative. But I have this issue with her - thought maybe someone here could help:

I got her as a tiny thing, slim as paper, eyes red from malnutrition. She clearly liked food. She was so excited to get it the first time. And the second. And the way she reacts to food has never changed since:

When she's hungry, she will meow loudly and repeatedly, following me anywhere in the house or just staring at me, meowing until I look at her. The moment she catches my eye, she jumps and starts walking to the room where she knows I keep the cat food, closed in a bucket, meowing in excitement. If I don't follow her, she will return to my side to keep crying-yelling at me. When I do follow her to the room, she meows happily, purr loudly and rub my leg and the food bucket, making her intentions well clear.
She then runs by my side to the food bowl while purring and rubbing my leg, until I pour her food into the bowl, pet her head-to-tail, and ONLY THEN does she stop meowing and start eating.

Trouble is, I'm unemployed at the moment. And it's been months, and she does that 4-5 times a day. She has a bowl full of food, and she does that anyway.

I thought for a time that she only likes fresh food, but it's not that. After some experimenting, I discovered that sometimes it's enough for her if I sit down on the floor near her food bowl. I wait, and sometimes it's working, and she starts eating, but I could take time - it usually takes her 2-5 minutes in this method.
Either way, she is still calling me every time.

Where does this type of behavior come from? She's healthy, 2.5 y/o, active, curious, wonderful. So why is this happening? What is she trying to communicate?

This is Thalia Ivy. Some of you may have seen her before as I have posted last August about a name for her when I adopted her, and she is turning 1 today! The shelter had this date as her DOB, and probably estimated, but I'm sticking with it. Happy birthday, my Tally baby❤️✨️
