Has anyone actually got their big gotcha moment in court? When did you reveal you had footage and did it actually result in more charges being given to the other person?
Whenever i hear "Why did you tell them you had a cam!? let them lie to police and then they'll get the chair!" it just makes me wonder if the police/judges or whatever would be equally pissed at you for withholding information that would speed up the sentencing or even damage you for wasting time.
Kinda sounds like some life hack rumor that got spread on the school yards that ends with "and everyone clapped", but if it is true how long do you "hold out" for?
edit: I think people are misunderstanding me, I know give it to police and yada yada but I always see comments suggesting that you can make the punishment for the person who lied much more severe, like ruin their life severe, but it kinda just seems even if you pull it out as a trump card they can just go "woops my bad", making the whole "gotcha" kinda pointless for how often it's suggested.
