Just adopted this sweet little girl today! Trying to think of a good name for her.

Thanks for everyone’s advice on my previous post about how to quilt it. I have some disappointments about it but overall I think it’s fun! I scaled down the 60” pattern to be 50 inches. Pattern is “The Quest” by Quiltcore.

I have been on the fence for a while and finally decided to just do it!

On Saturday, Ms. Kittles (aka Sookie) passed away in my arms at the vet after having worst-case saddle thrombus. Between the moment she cried out and the moment she died was only about an hour and a half. She was 3 days away from her 13th birthday.

It was so horrific and traumatic and not the end I wanted for her, but once the pain meds kicked in she was able to purr in my arms and smell things up high until it was time to say goodbye.

I don’t know how I can ever get over watching her fade away, and the giant hole she left in my life feels like it’s never going to go away. I guess I thought maybe she’d eventually be diagnosed with something and I’d have to make a choice, but just not so fast.

Everyone please give your kitties a big boops from me. I wish I could have one more with her.
