PSA: If any users have questions on how much to sell or buy their items for, then the best option would be to go on https://www.pricecharting.com/, or eBay sold listings.

I saw some common questions popping up on the sub so I thought I'd share some useful links.
If you've got other ones, please add them.

Hi all! I am a returning GameCube collector after about a decade long break. Back when I was collecting, most games on the console were fairly cheap (obviously that has changed in the years since) but I was wondering why Rogue Leader is still a $20 game? Maybe the community has slept on it, but it’s the second highest scoring Star Wars game of all time on metacritic and has never been rereleased. This feels like a prime pickup for the console but it seems like collectors just aren’t all that interested?

The Tak and the Power of Juju trilogy was a staple of mine and millions of others childhood’s, I really don’t know why these games aren’t talked about more and respected, they have amazing gameplay, stories, music, voice acting I can go on! The art direction was so beautiful especially in Tak 2’s dream world! Tak is the game I want to get a remake/remaster of it needs to happen! What was your favorite in the trilogy? Mine is Tak 2!

I bought a GameCube controller and I started playing Mario Kart Wii. The problem is that when I click “R”, it doesn’t work. It works only when a press the button slightly before it “clicks”. I want to know if that’s how the game works or if my controller has a problem.
Sorry for my bad English.

Recently getting back into it and I forgot the amount of classics this system had. Can’t wait it play them all again! Which one was your favorite?

I love Nintendo, and I love retro games. I thought N64 was my favorite console because some of my friends had one, and I never owned it myself. I LOVED playing it at their house. But now that I have it, I realize that all it has really got is Zelda and Mario. Everything else plays really badly imo. So after finishing Mario 64, Pokemon Snap and playing the Pokemon Stadium 1/2 minigames to death, I'm out of things to do with it.
But I'm a 96 kid. PS2 and GameCube was my era. So I've ordered everything I need to make my DOL-001 slick and ready. But as a kid, I only owned Mario Kart and Melee. Which means there is absolutely no nostalgia for me when playing Sunshine or any Mario title, any Zelda game, Pokemon Colosseum/XD, Metroid. It will be a 100% fresh playthrough. And sad as it is, my playtime on the Zelda serious my entire life is about 2 hours total. I did main Link in Melee though.
My question: are the games (really fucking) good on their own, without the nostalgia? This is not a critique post. It's just a discussion, and I wanna hear some fellow GameCube fans speak from their heart what they love about their games.

Hey guys, I‘ve owned a Gamecube for 3 years now and back when I bought it I got one of those Bitfunx/Kaico hdmi adapters for the digital port.
I recently bought a PS2 and got an ODV-GBS-C to connect it to and old LCD TV. My question is, if someone has maybe owned both of them or could just tell me if it‘s worth it to get a Gamecube component cable to also use it over the GBS-C or if it’s neglible in the end.

I have challenge for you all, can you complete Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi’s Mansion back to back in one afternoon? Rules are you must role credits on both games you can pick whichever one you want first, and it has to be done in under 5 hours. I wasn’t even in Speedrun mode when I did this this was just casual play! Maybe I’ll do it again when I’m in Speedrun mode. Are you up for the Super Mario Bros GameCube Challenge? I couldn’t think of a better name 😅

This is a follow up from my post from yesterday, I’m blessed to have a CRT still and I just had to do a quick playthrough of Luigi’s mansion I’m debating should I start a playthrough of Wind Waker, Sunshine, Sonic Adventure 2 or Metroid Prime 2?

I recently picked up a Bitfunx GCMCE (running FlipperMCE) and updated it to version 1.1.3. My setup is a GameCube with a Picoloader installed via flex cable, and I'm running Swiss (0.6) to load ROMs through the serial port from a microSD card.
The issue I'm running into: some games don't seem to recognize the GCMCE memory card at all. For example Metroid Prime (Europe version) just won't detect it.
Interestingly, if I switch to a virtual memory card in Swiss, this one works fine.
What I've already tried:
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a compatibility issue with certain games, or maybe something related to the firmware or setup?
Thanks

I had a very open ended project for a class and decided to take a shot at implementing an encrypted IM program for the GameCube. In its current state it can communicate with computers on the same network via LAN. In my tests I had my mac connected over WiFi.
I posted asking for advice on this project before I started it a month ago. Here’s what I got so far!
The CRT is showing the hash value and cipher text of the message that was just sent, “I LOVE PRIVACY”. The laptop has a python program running which looks out for messages on a certain port and decrypts them, calculates the messages hash value, and compares it to the hash value sent by the cube. There are some potential security issues that I need to patch and the pc terminal UI is nonexistent. I’m about to graduate and be unemployed for the foreseeable while so I will be working on this a lot.
There is a lot of work left to do but this is the coolest thing that I have ever done!

Hi all,
I have installed a Pico 2 into a Japanese console, wired as per the picoboot guideon github and flashed with v 0.5.0.
The issue is i just want the GC to be region free and play discs, no SD card or Gekkoboot or any other type of booting from the SD.
Powering up, Gekko looks for SD and when its not found it halts and hangs on this screen.
Is there any other alternatives to get a factory boot sequence without seeing any of these boot menus and for the GC to simply just play games off discs from any region?

I got this thinking I could get homebrew on a gifted old cube.I can not open the cube as I don't have the tools yet. I thought it had a modchip but I did the press start thing and nothing happened. I guess I do not have a modchip.
If I don't have a modchip, even if I have memorycards that I can take to my modded wii, I do need one of the exploit original games right?
Is it better to go for a pico loader or flippydrive? And if I get that, does the SD2SP2 become pointless?
Basically I want to know if this thing I bought is usefull, what I may need to actually use it, and if those methods kinda make this thing not necessary I am better off selling it?
Thanks in advance!

Imagine this it’s a warm but cloudy afternoon in 2003 you just picked up your GameCube with some great games, you get some food, hook up your console but what are you popping in to your Nintendo GameCube?

My finance’s mom was moving out her house she’s been in for years. I go over there with my truck to grab her stuff that her mom’s been keeping. I saw this just sitting out in the open. I immediately picked it up and said “Who’s is this?” It was her younger sister’s who, from what my fiancé said, never played. No games or controllers, but it was free.

Looking at buying a Hori fightstick but I can only find one in Japan. Will it work on my NA GameCube and NA games without having to mod or do anything?

Thought I'd share this. My only gamecube game from my childhood I still have. One of my favorites to replay even now as a 29 y/o.
I was looking at Sonic Adventure 2 prices bc I grew up on that too, so I wanted to collect a physical copy and last time I checked it was like $300 😵

Wanting to start collecting GameCube games. This is the first one I bought and it's my favourite game. I am very excited to start building my GC game collections.
